Virtual Cybernetic Building Testbed (Simulation)

If the simulation does not appear below, use the VRML plugin detector to check if your web browser is properly configured to be able to view VRML files.

This is a simulation of the VCBT to test the various graphics elements that are used. The actual visualization of the simulation is driven by a Java applet that gets results from the simulation. Use the VRML viewpoints to zoom in on the AHU, VAVs, and other elements to see how the gages and graphs work. 'Click to Play Simulation' or use the slider bar to simulate the results (fire, smoke layers, VAV controls) of the simulation. Click on the doors to open them to navigate between the rooms.

To model the VCBT, a wide variety of VRML PROTOs have been developed. To save the VRML for the protos, right click on the links and save as.

If you're interested in your own local copy of the VRML model, then download this free zip file to your computer. Unzipping the file will create a directory nist_cic_vrml. Use a web browser to load the file vcbt/vcbtsim.html in that directory to display a local copy of this web page.

This project was concluded in 2002. All of the VRML models and PROTOs are provided as-is. No support is available.
